SHARK'S Home Page

Hello, Fellow Internet Surfer and Welcome to My Personal Home Page. I'm very glad that you made it this far... and I hope that you'll stick around long enough to get to know just a little bit more about Me and My life. After all, these days, acquaintances that begin in cyberspace are often the most real, vivid, and long-lasting - and maybe that will be true of us. And, of course, thanks to my best friend Slavi for his support!

My Background

I was born in a small town in Bulgaria's Trakia Valley - formerly Novi Kritchim, now Stambolijski, but my family soon moved to Plovdiv (1974). And, before we go any further, just in case (not that I'm looking to get hired, but - just in case you ARE my big break), here's My resume:

My full name is Svetoslav Hristosov Enkov. I was born on September 5th, 1967, 20:30 [GMT +02]. My zodiac sign is Virgo. I'm a heterosexual, male, with normal sexual interests. Divorced, no children! Well, that is the way it is.

Now I am working at the University of Plovdiv as a senior assistant (junior lecturer) in the Department of Computer Science and as a consultant for TEMPUS SJEP projects in Philological Faculty and in Laboratory of Information Technologies and RDESC. Now I've started my Ph.D. dissertation study on Distance Education for disabled people.

I'm a programmer - I use freely Assembler, Pascal, C/C++, Delphies. Now I am trying to learn Visual Basic, HTML, PERL, ASP and Java/JavaScript too. Also I am interested in and have worked on desktop publishing, distance education, image processing, linguistic processing and databases. I make Web pages on demand/request. You can take a look at my strengths at http://www.brainbench.com/transcript.jsp?pid=584068

   I have a MCP on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server (ID# 1915361).

My Interests

I guess that the best - and fastest - way to really get to know me is by discovering what I like.

So here goes . . .

I love music, beer, beautiful girls, computers, and so on...

I'm also a researcher - I have papers in the field of natural language processing, linguistics processors, databases, hypermedia, distance education, multimedia and more, more....

In the past (and not only in the past) I'd been interested in electronics (integrated circuits, analogue and digital devices) and in 1982 I was one of the first of schoolboys that had completed a course in microprocessor devices (in Plovdiv of course) :-). Nowadays I'm very busy and don't have so much free time for my old hobby and I forgot the great odor of soldering iron and tin.

Now I have a 1666MHz Athlon XP 2000+ on DFI  Lanparty NFII Ultra NForce-2 Ultra based mainboard with 1024MB of DDR333, 40GB + 40GB + 13.5GB 7200RPM HDDs, AGP4x ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 32MB DDR video card w/VIVO and TV-tuner, 22" ACER AL2216Wsd TFT LCD monitor, PCI 56K Data/Fax/Voice modem, MOTOROLA SurfBoard 4200 Cable modem (512kb/s international traffic EUROCOM's Business Extra connection plan), DVD-/RW NEC AD-7170A, old EPSON LQ-100 printer (too lazy, too slow, too noisy - but still printing), HP DeskJet 843C USB color printer, MS SideWinder 3D-Pro Digital Joystick, USB Canon CanoScan D646U scanner, USB A5 Tablet, USB 1.1 Hub, USB 2.0 Hub, MS Wireless Mouse 2.0, MS Natural Multimedia Keyboard, A-Data PD4/Compact USB 2.0 1GB Flash drive, Silicon Power 8-in-1 MMC/CF/MS/SD card reader, MediaMax PC Remote control, USB Web VGA Camera, USB Bluetooth and IrDA Adapters, SONY MDR-IF230RK wireless headphones, TCM Dolby Prologic 5.1 70W RMS decoder + speakers, UPS 1000VA and many more small cards and accessories plugged-in to the my great and lovely beast... In comparison with my old 1MHz 6502 Apple-II compatible Pravetz-8C with deadly green monitor and two great biggest 140K floppies - this is certain the progress, ah? Write me a message about your configuration and your problems of hardware and software
Also, in addition to my old TCM DC2-4.1 digital photo with a 64M B CF card I recently have got a new CANON PowerShot S1 IS - this is a whole new world of the photography (+ 512 and 256 MB CF cards). You could take a look at my Picasa Web Albums collection link in my pictures page.
